Manchester United have been told it is only a matter of time before their top target Karim Benzema leaves Lyon.
The agent for the s35million-rated striker has confirmed the interest from United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
"Ferguson wants Karim this summer," said Karim Djaziri. "The question is not if Benzema will sign for one of the big clubs, but when."
United need new striking options following the departure of Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo, who completed his world record £80m move to Real Madrid last night.
Ronaldo signed a six year deal which will pay him a reported £11.5m per season. "Real Madrid and Manchester United have signed the final agreement for the transfer, effective July 1," said a Real spokesman.
