Blackwell booted after QPR defeat

Kevin Blackwell was sacked as Sheffield United boss after his side were humiliated by ex-boss Neil Warnock’s QPR outfit yesterday.

Blackwell’s men were three down after only 23 minutes – and it could have been worse if Rangers had taken their chances.

Last night the club confirmed his departure saying: “It is time for us to move on because our ambition remains to challenge for promotion.

“We have jointly agreed to part company with immediate effect.”
