Leeds launch shock move for Jason Roberts

Leeds United are making a shock bid to sign Jason Roberts from Blackburn Rovers to spearhead their title charge.

Boss Simon Grayson has asked to take Roberts on loan from Rovers and pick up the bulk of his big salary - with the Premier League outfit considering the offer.

Grayson wants more power up front, with Argentinian Luciano Becchio his main target man. Roberts would be a major coup for the Elland Road club if he is willing to drop down two levels.
