Simon Grayson aims to lead Leeds back to the Premier League during the course of his new three-year deal.
Grayson agreed his new contract yesterday before United's pre-season friendly against MFK Rozomberok in Slovakia and is targeting a return to the big time.
The former Blackpool boss won Leeds promotion to the Championship last season and believes they can be contenders again this season.
"In three years' time I want us to be in the Premier League," said Grayson, who turned down an offer from his former club Leicester to commit his future to Leeds. "The chairman and me want that to happen and the players should too.
"That's not to say that you can't do it in shorter space of time because other clubs have done so in the past but a three-year contract gives you an opportunity to progress throughout it and set big targets.
"Nobody will be pushing harder for the next step than me. I'm really pleased that the club wanted to sit down and offer me a contract like this and I'll hopefully be here for a few more years after that.
"Everything's agreed and I'll sign the contract when I get back."
