Jermaine Beckford could be shown the door at Leicester following a row with boss Nigel Pearson.
Striker Beckford clashed with Pearson in the dressing room following the 1-0 defeat at Peterborough on Saturday.
Pearson was furious with the £2.5m signing for failing to go into the Posh area for a free kick in the final minutes of the game.
The pair exchanged fierce words and Beckford is now facing an uncertain future with the Foxes.
Pearson said of the incident: "I wasn't happy and I will deal with those sort of things internally. Clearly it wasn't something I want to see.
"I am not going to go overboard publicly, but I will be dealing with things behind the scenes."
Former Everton striker Beckford was signed by ex-boss Sven Goran Eriksson but has failed to impress at the King Power Stadium.
