Leicester to bid for Birmingham striker Kevin Phillips

Leicester are preparing a £750,000 bid for Birmingham striker Kevin Phillips.

Foxes boss Nigel Pearson wants golden-oldie Phillips to help fire a promotion push from the Championship.

Former England star Phillips, 36, was Birmingham's top goalscorer last season with 13 strikes, but he was unhappy at Alex McLeish's squad rotation policy.
