Lawrence slams Portsmouth owners as a 'disgrace'

Liam Lawrence has branded the former owners of Portsmouth a ‘disgrace’, following their relegation to League One.
Michael Appleton’s men will play in the third tier of English football for the first time in nearly 30 years after Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Derby.
Yet Pompey would be 18th in the Championship table on 50 points had they not received a 10-point deduction in February, after the crisis club went into administration for the second time in two years.
And Lawrence, on loan at Cardiff as part of the cost-cutting, has slammed the running of the club.
The former Portsmouth captain said: “For the powers above to deduct points for the idiots who have ruined the club, run away scot-free and left it in a mess, is unfortunate.
“I feel so sorry for the fans. What they have been put through in the last three years is disgraceful.
“Cardiff is a lot different. It is financially secure and has a great fan base, like Pompey, but it’s at the other end of the spectrum.”
