Shankly the Anfield cat is at it again

His pussy-footed pitch invasion disrupted a Premier League thriller – and now Shankly is back on the loose and heading for Anfield.
The tom cat who brought Liverpool’s home clash with Spurs to a halt earlier this month when he strayed on to the turf, has escaped from his foster home.
Shanks was being looked after by Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre, but he fled through a catflap and has gone missing.
Dave Callender, cat neutering co-ordinator at the rescue centre, said: “Shanks could well be heading back to Anfield for another shot at the limelight.
“Cats like Shanks, which we call street toms, are very hard to tame. They are very worldly and know every trick in the book. They can get by in ways humans could never dream of.”
He added: “Shanks is definitely a people cat and loved all the attention while he was with us. So many people came to see him and he revelled in it, but he just didn’t like the confinement.
Dave is urging anyone who sees Shankly to contact the Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre in Crosby, Merseyside.
He said: “Keep an eye out for Shanks. He deserves a safe and loving home.”
