Takeover talk boosts Carragher

Veteran Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has added his voice to those welcoming the potential £300million takeover by New England Sports Ventures , the owners of the Boston Red Sox baseball team.

"Everyone knows it'll be a good thing for the club," he said on Liverpool's official website.

"Hopefully it will be sorted sooner rather than later and we can start looking forward on the pitch and start improving results, which is what we need to do."
