Liverpool have made a £15million take-it-or-leave-it offer for David Silva.
Anfield boss Rafa Benitez has warned the winger's club Valencia he will walk away from the deal if they try to turn it into an auction.
There have been secret talks between the two clubs over the highly-rated 23-year-old, who was part of the Spain squad that won Euro 2008 last summer.
But Benitez is becoming increasingly annoyed about what he sees as Valencia's underhand tactics to try
to push the price up by involving other clubs.
Valencia are more than £100million in debt and this summer will have to sell Silva, along with their superstar striker David Villa and international defender Raul Albiol if they are to survive.
