Liverpool say Dirk Kuyt will be out for four weeks after injuring himself attempting a bicycle kick in Holland training.
The forward, linked with Inter Milan during the transfer window, fell heavily and sustained a shoulder injury in Dutch training ahead of their Euro 2012 qualifier against Finland.
His layoff means Kuyt will miss the crucial Premier League game with Manchester United and an emotional return to old club FC Utrecht in the Europa League.
He returned to England yesterday for tests at Liverpool's Melwood HQ and lub doctor Peter Brukner said: "Dirk has damaged his shoulder at the A-C joint, which is between the collar bone and the shoulder. He is likely to be out for four weeks."
