Roy Hodgson has told Steve McClaren to forget about trying to sign Ryan Babel.
And Liverpool's Dutch international winger also rejected talk that he was about to join Wolfsburg in a £9million move.
Babel's Anfield future continues to be questioned because he was left on the bench for Sunday's opening Premier League game against Arsenal.
However Reds boss Hodgson said: "We've had no written or formal offers for Ryan Babel and he's a player who I'm expecting to play for us."
Babel, 23, also used twitter to shoot down talk that he could be leaving.
He tweeted: "The first person who will tell u about anything will be me not the papers. The last 50 mentions dat I got were - is it true about the rumours Ryan? r u leaving etc?. Oh please.. Save it."
