Karim Benzema has joined Real Madrid from Olympique Lyon, the French club confirmed this evening.
The Ligue 1 outfit announced the news on their official website, revealing that they had accepted a fee of at least £30million from Madrid for the player, with performance clauses that could see the price rise to £46million.
The news will come as a blow to Manchester United and Arsenal who had both been tracking the highly-rated 21-year-old striker.
Benzema becomes the fourth major summer signing for Spanish giants Madrid, following blockbuster deals for Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raul Albiol.
