Man United target Benzema wants to go to Real Madrid

Lyon's French international Karim Benzema has admitted he would prefer a move to Real Madrid over Old Trafford.

The Ligue 1 player of the year and longtime target of Sir Alex Ferguson told Spanish newspaper Marca that he wants to stay in France for the time being, but would welcome a move to the Bernabeu when the time is right.

He said: "I like Real Madrid, but I think that I'm still too young to sign for a club like that.

"I think that I need to get more experience and I'd like to help Lyon be a European champion.

"Then, in the future, we'll see what happens."
