City's masterplan cannot fail says McCarthy

Wolves boss Mick ­McCarthy believes Roberto Mancini has got the formula to re-write Premier League history.

After a 5-2 humiliation at the hands of City’s reserves in the Carling Cup on Wednesday, Wolves must face the first team on Saturday in the Premier League.

“They’re just getting stronger and stronger and becoming a real force," said McCarthy.

“The formula is pretty easy. Get zillions to spend, get a great manager and get the best players. You have half a chance.

"We play in a different league to them, really. Most of us do.”
