Manchester City on verge of signing Espanyol defender Pablo Zabaleta

Espanyol defender Pablo Zabaleta is currently undergoing a medical at Man City after the club offered to pay his €8million (£6.4m) buy-out clause.
A statement on the Spanish club's official website reads: "Espanyol have decided, taking into account the player must leave next Sunday to join up with his national team, to authorise the player to travel to Manchester to take a medical this Friday, while the English club deals with the documentation of the termination of the Argentinian full-back's contract with the Catalan team."
It's believed Zabaleta flew of England for his medical alongside midfielder Albert Riera, who is expected to sign for Liverpool today.
