Moneybags Manchester City are beating Chelsea to the signature of Brazilian teenager Rafael de Silva Rodolfo - the 'new Robinho.
The 16-year-old attacker, whose football name is Pernao has attracted huge interest and flew in for talks with both City and their London rivals.
Pernao is rated at £3 million despite the fact that he has not featured in the Fluminese first-team yet and is considered the next jewel from South America.
City moved quickly to invite the youngster to Manchester last week and expect to complete the deak shortly, which will include further add-ons, following discussions with his club and family.
Pernao was able to meet and train with his idol Robinho and wants to follow the same route to Manchester as his friends, the Da Silva twins who have already made the first team at rivals United.
Chelsea thought they were at the front of the queue for the player but City are currently spending millions establishing academies across the globe and have very firm plans to recruit the hottest young talent around.
