Manchester City to make move for Blackburn's Stephen Warnock in January

Mark Hughes wants his old Blackburn defender Stephen Warnock to add some fight to his lightweight Manchester City side.
Sparky, who already has Warnock's team-mate Roque Santa Cruz on his January shopping list, is a huge admirer of the combative full-back and signed him from Liverpool in January 2007 when he was Rovers boss.
New Ewood Park chief Paul Ince would like to snap up City defender Nedum Onouha, and Warnock could move the other way in a swap deal.
But Ince would prefer to hang on to Warnock, who was targeted by Newcastle in the summer.
Hughes has the biggest transfer kitty in the world and is also keeping tabs on Marseille's Nigerian left-back Taye Taiwo.
