Manchester City weigh up Donovan move

Big spending Manchester City are weighing up a move for USA midfielder Landon Donovan.
Mega-rich City watched the LA Galaxy midfielder during the World Cup and were hugely impressed by his loan spell at Everton last season.
City are determined to rebuild their squad this summer as they look to complete a £20m deal for Barcelona outcast Yaya Toure.
They remain keen on Aston Villa's James Milner and are hoping to complete a big-money move for the England midfielder.
But City also checked on Donovan and Portugal's Benfica winger Fabio Coentrao, 23, who is also attracting interest from Europe's big guns, including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
City, however, have got money to spend and they are braced to splash the cash and while other clubs are being cautious they are prepared to buy even bigger.
Toure is valued at £20m and has been offered a four-year deal as it is believed the deal will be rubber-stamped by Barcelona's new president Sandro Rosell.
Coentrao is also in the £20m bracket while City are prepared to top that to sign Milner. Donovan is under contract with LA Galaxy but may feel that joining a European club permanently would further his career.
