Manchester City target Edin Dzeko has begged Wolfsburg to let him go.
Steve McClaren's new club are determined to hang on to Dzeko after no club met their £32.5million asking price for the striker before the June 1 deadline in his contract.
City say they will not pay over the odds for the Bosnian international and want Wolfsburg to lower their price.
Dzeko, 24, who has also attracted interest from Juventus, is frustrated by the impasse and called on the Bundesliga side to sell him.
"I now want to represent a big club so I can develop further," he said.
"This has now become my big desire. I hope and I believe VfL will let me leave now.
"I am aware of the clauses in my contract, but I have already said that this point in time would be too early. It is too early for other clubs.
"Now I have received a good offer I have to talk about it with the manager and the managing director."
