Van Der Sar: Will be annoyed at his positioning for the goal he conceded. 5
O'Shea: United's Mr Versatile looked comfortable at right-back and when he switched to centre-back. 6
Ferdinand: Cool as ever and impressive distribution from the back. 7
Evans: Calmness personified alongside Ferdinand. Never once ruffled. 7
Evra: Committed and industrious display from United's first choice left-back. 7
Gibson: Surprise choice to start in midfield but justified selection on the right. 6
Anderson: Typically belligerent display marred only by some wayward passing. 6
Scholes: Customary rash tackles early on but settled down to control the midfield. 6
Nani: Saw much of the ball and took his goal well, poor delivery from corners. 6
Rooney: Looked back at home playing through the middle in his favoured role and scored a fine poacher's goal. 7
Berbatov: Typically languid display from the Bulgarian but some impressive touches. 6
Substitutes:
Foster (Van Der Sar 46): Dreadful howler to concede United's equaliser. 5
Fabio Da Silva (Evra 60): Energetic display from the young Brazilian. 5
Owen (Rooney 60): Looked lively on his 30-minute debut and showed his experience by scoring the winner. 7
Tosic (Scholes 60): Some good touches but squandered possession too often. 6
Brown (Ferdinand 60): Working his way back to full fitness after long-term injury lay-off. 6
Giggs (Anderson 76): Played a part in Owen's goal. 6
Macheda (Berbatov 76): Introduction too late to make a real impact. 5
