Rooney's marriage in crisis again as Coleen jets off

Fed-up Coleen Rooney has flown her family out on a £100,000 Caribbean holiday away from the pressure of her strained marriage to Wayne.
Coleen and the couple’s 16-month-old son Kai have been joined on the two-week trip by her mother Colette, father Tony, her brother Anthony and sister Rosie.
Meanwhile striker Wayne is 4,000 miles away back home at the couple’s sprawling mansion in Cheshire during a critical phase of Manchester United’s season.
Shamed Wayne was exposed last September for cheating with two prostitutes while Coleen was five months’ pregnant with Kai. Now, half a year on from the humiliating revelations, the couple’s once-idyllic marriage remains mired in crisis and recrimination, we can reveal.
Coleen agreed to take Wayne back only after days of soul-searching and friends say she will never be able to forgive him, still less forget his betrayal.
An exasperated Wayne, meanwhile, is telling friends there is “only so much punishment” he can take.
Coleen, said to be “wounded to the core”, is spending more time than ever with Tony and Colette, whose increasing role in her life is making Wayne uncomfortable.
The mounting friction, combined with the mistrust Coleen harbours for her husband, means their relationship has become “virtually paralysed”, sources say. And Coleen, who was forging her own successful career, has now retreated from public life.
“Poor Coleen feels people are sniggering about her behind her back everywhere she goes,” said a friend. “She hates going out now.
“She used to be so proud of being Wayne’s wife, but she thinks people are ridiculing her and that’s a terrible feeling to have.
“She still cries every time she sees either of the prostitutes in the magazines and the papers.”
And, we can reveal, Coleen has no appetite for celebrity photoshoots. “She just doesn’t want to know,” said the friend.
Coleen and her party flew from Manchester to Gatwick on Sunday, from where they travelled first class on Virgin Atlantic to Barbados.
A group of Coleen’s friends will join them next week. Our exclusive pictures show the family relaxing at the beach on Tuesday, close to Wayne and Coleen’s £5million villa on the island.
While they enjoyed the sunshine, Wayne was taking to the field for Manchester United’s vital Champions League clash with Marseilles at Old Trafford.
The England striker, who made a grovelling public apology for bedding prostitutes Jennifer Thompson and Helen Wood at the Lowry Hotel Manchester in July 2009, has told friends he is frustrated about the influence his disapproving in-laws now wield in his marriage.
“Wayne knows he’s done wrong but he is starting to think there’s only so long he can eat humble pie,” a source said.
“Tony and Colette are from a proper working-class family with old-fashioned values and they just can’t forgive him, particularly as he was caught before with prostitutes.
“When Wayne goes out he rings in to tell Coleen where he is. She doesn’t like him hanging around with his team mates and hates him drinking.
“He is one of the most successful, famous and rich footballers in the world. He sees his team mates going out and enjoying themselves, but he feels he can’t join in.
“One of the most galling things is having to tell Coleen where he is while she and her family are sunning themselves on a holiday paid for with his money.
“He absolutely adores Coleen and Kai and he would never walk away from them, but in his very darkest moments that is something he has considered.
“He thinks a brother or sister for Kai will help the whole family move on. But Coleen isn’t ready.” Her friends say she is determined to enjoy herself as much as possible. She has bought a new Bentley and this holiday will have cost the best part of £100,000,” said a source. “But after all he’s put her through, that’s the least she and her family deserve.” In October we exclusively revealed Wayne was handed a £250,000-a-week contract after he had asked to leave Old Trafford. Wayne’s wealth has helped Tony and Colette to move from their Liverpool council house to a £1.3million pad in wealthy Formby. Our source said: “All this tension at home had a terrible effect on him on the pitch for a while. It caused his run of bad form. But Wayne has decided he has to get on with his life and in the last month his playing is much, much better.”
A spokesman for Wayne and Coleen said: “Coleen is taking a long-planned break with her family to get some winter sunshine as she has done in previous years.”
