NEMANJA VIDIC is set to start for Manchester United against Everton on Saturday after coming through Serbia’s 1-0 victory over South Korea unscathed.
Vidic was forced to miss United’s loss at Chelsea 11 days ago with a calf injury but played 60 minutes at Craven Cottage yesterday for his national side.
The giant centre-back looked solid as Radi Antic’s side followed up their recent win over Northern Ireland with another impressive performance.
Vidic was even close to getting on the scoresheet but Korean keeper Kim Young Kwang palmed away his close-range effort.
Striker Nikola Zigic's sixth-minute goal secured victory and ended South Korea's 27-match unbeaten run.
United midfielder Ji-Sung Park also played for 70 minutes as he continued his recovery from a knee problem.
Park has missed the last 11 matches for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side and has not featured since the 4-3 derby win over Manchester City on September 20.
Former England and Manchester United captain Bryan Robson saw his Thailand side slump to a first defeat under his management when they were beaten 1-0 by Singapore in the Asian Cup.
“We knew all about Singapore's set-pieces and our marking was wrong for their goal,” Robson said.
“But they were very well organised and tough to break down and I couldn't really ask much more from my players.”
