Wayne Rooney will today learn whether he is liable for up to £4.5 million in compensation owed to his former management company.
The Manchester United and England striker is being sued for alleged unpaid commission on his commercial earnings and a judgment in the case will be made today.
Mr Justice Hegarty, who delayed his ruling until after the World Cup, will deliver judgement in Manchester.
Rooney, who is currently on holiday in Barbados, will not be in court to hear the judgment but his agent, Paul Stretford, is set to be present.
The Formation Group argue they are owed all commission paid to Stretford since 2008, a claim amounting to £4.5m, but Rooney's camp have disputed that amount in court.
Stretford split from Formation, the group which took over Proactive Sports Management, the company he founded and to which Rooney was originally signed.
