Bulgaria’s prime minister is in the running for his country’s footballer of the year award.
Bokio Borisov, 52, is currently second in the survey, behind Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov, 30.
He became leader in 2009 and still plays with amateur side Vitosha Bistritsa. It is the first time a non-professional player has been nominated.
Borisov, who coached Bulgaria’s karate team, is facing domestic protests over pension reforms.
