Rooney set for United return

WAYNE ROONEY and Manchester United's other World Cup stars are set to play their first game of pre-season in Dublin on August 4 in their final match before the Charity Shield against Chelsea.
Rooney, Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic, Ji-Sung Park, Michael Carrick and new signing Javier Hernandez are all expected to feature in the game against an League of Ireland XI at the newly-built 50,000-seater Aviva Stadium, formerly Lansdowne Road.
Rooney has not played since England's World Cup exit at the hands of Germany but is due back in training next Wedneaday, along with all the other United players who featured in South Africa.
