Mark Hughes is anxious to hang on to his highly-rated Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson.
Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham are eyeing up £10m-rated Johnson, 20, who is tipped to become a full England international.
Hughes says the player won't be leaving and has opened talks on a new contract to replace his £12,000-a-week deal.
"It doesn't surprise me good players like him should attract interest, but I very much want him to stay and hopefully we can resolve his contract negotiations very quickly," said the City boss.
