Martin Petrov targeting Big Four with Manchester City
Published 00:00 06/07/09 By By Football Spy
Martin Petrov last night piled the pressure on Chelsea and Arsenal by warning Manchester City are targeting their top-four spots.
City have been quick to make their mark in the transfer market this summer with the captures of Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz and an imminent deal for Carlos Tevez.
Bulgarian winger Petrov, 30, reckons City are now in a similar position to the Chelsea side before Roman Abramovich's arrival.
Petrov said: "The money we have will help us to become as good as Arsenal and Chelsea.
"Before Chelsea got their investment, they were no better than we are now so we know that if we spend well we can challenge for trophies and titles."
