Mexican legend a shock contender for Barnsley job

Mexican legend Hugo Sanchez is the shock name in the frame to be Barnsley’s next manager - and is on the Oakwell short list.

Sanchez, a goalscoring hero at Real Madrid and for his country, is chasing the post at the Yorkshire club as he is keen to come to England.

Barnsley are stunned by his interest and may set up talks as they go through their options which include out-of-work David O’Leary and Rochdale boss Keith Hill.
