Gordon Strachan is ready to walk out on Middlesbrough to save the club from having to pay him a massive settlement.
Strachan has been considering his future after a poor run of results and friends say he is poised to quit because he’s failed to work his magic.
Defeat by Leeds United left cash-strapped Boro in deep trouble and the Scot is talking to chairman Steve Gibson.
Paul Ince, Paul Jewell and Tony Mowbray are in the frame to step in if he does go.
