Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan set to be priced out of move for Celtic forward

Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan will have to pay £3.5 million for Celtic striker Scott McDonald - and is backing away from the border raid.
The Australian is a target for his former manager - along with centre half Gary Caldwell and midfielder Barry Robson - as he bids to build up his struggling team.
But Strachan is reeling after finding out the fee for the former Southampton hopeful who was under his wing as a kid.
McDonald is keen to come to England - and would even consider the Championship - but the price is proving a snag for Strachan and chairman Steve Gibson.
Caldwell's bargain fee should be agreed and he may even sign a pre-contract first. His deal is up in the summer and he is clear to speak to Boro now.
And Robson may also be on his way after the Old Firm clash tomorrow, costing just around £1 million to make his belated switch to English football after other clubs failed to land him.
