Chelsea target Adam Johnson has been told there is "no way" he is leaving Middlesbrough this summer.
Blues are looking for young signings and £8million-rated Johnson fits the bill.
The England Under-21 winger is one of Boro's most saleable assets and turned down a new deal last season, but has been told he will get a long run in the first team next season with Stewart Downing out injured.
Boro chief executive Keith Lamb said: "Adam will not be leaving this club in the summer.
"He was going to be with us whether we were in the Championship or the Premier League."
