Boro close in on treble transfer swoop

Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan is closing in on Stephen McManus and has lined up two more deals.

Boro clinched the signing of Kris Boyd and Charlton skipper Nicky Bailey earlier this week.

Strachan is also chasing Celtic stopper McManus, 27, who arrived at the Riverside on loan in February.

And Strachan wants Scunthorpe striker Gary Hooper, 22, and Rochdale's 20-year-old defender Craig Dawson.
