Mike Ashley hopes Malaysian group will buy Newcastle

Mike Ashley is hoping to sell Newcastle to a group of Malaysian businessmen - after a secret VIP trip by the prospective buyers yesterday.
Toon supremo Ashley would like to sell up - or even bring in a major investor - however he is also keen to keep the club out of the hands of old chairman Freddy Shepherd.
The identity of the Malaysians is a closely-guarded secret, but the party of four were spotted by staff and players as they were given a tour of the stadium and training ground.
Sports clothing tycoon Ashley wants a quick sale if possible, as the Geordies are just a month away from the start of the Championship and still without a manager.
