Three Newcastle United players were snapped partying the night before their club was crushed 4-0.
Striker Leon Best and midfielders Stephen Ireland and Stephen Folan were pictured showing off their torsos on Friday night on a nightclub’s Facebook page.
Ireland and Best were injured and did not travel to Stoke the next day, while Folan is a reserve player and was not involved.
Manager Alan Pardew said: “It’s not an ideal situation, even though they’re injured. I’ll look into it.”
A staff member at the city’s Tup Tup Palace said: “They pulled their tops up as we have boys here who walk around with theirs off. They were just taking the mick.”
The source added the Premier League players were only there for an hour and drank water and Red Bulls.
But fans were angered.
Paul Blacklock, 25, of Seghill, Northumberland, said: “It is disgusting to hear of this.”
