Newcastle set to sign French midfield ace

Newcastle manager Chris Hughton is ready to sign on-trial French midfielder Fabrice Pancrate.

The 29-year-old impressed in a reserve team outing and Hughton said: “He did well and I enjoyed what I saw. He’s been with us for the past week or so and we’ll continue to have a look at him over the next couple of days.

“He’s an experienced player and has played at a good level for a number of years.

“He can player in a couple of positions and showed that he’s got a good work rate and had a few nice touches.”
