Newcastle are planning a dramatic swoop for £8million Dutch goal ace Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
The striker, 21, hit a hat-trick last week as Utrecht put Celtic out of the Europa League with a 4-0 home leg triumph.
Toon also had a scout at Portsmouth to check on skipper Marc Wilson.
