Newcastle boss Alan Pardew will be boosted by the returns of Cheick Tiote and Ryan Taylor for Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash with Liverpool.
Midfielder Tiote has missed the last two games with a hamstring problem, while utility man Taylor has been sidelined by a calf strain.
However, central defender and captain Fabricio Coloccini is out with a torn hamstring, joining long-term absentees Peter Lovenkrands (thigh), Leon Best, Sammy Ameobi (both knee), Steven Taylor (Achilles) and Sylvain Marveaux (groin) on the casualty list.
Provisional squad: Krul, Elliot, Harper, Simpson, Santon, R. Taylor, Ferguson, Perch, Williamson, Tiote, Cabaye, Obertan, Ben Arfa, Gutierrez, Abeid, Gosling, Ba, Cisse, Shola Ameobi.

Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam will miss Sunday's trip to Newcastle as he must wait a fortnight for further assessment of a knee problem.
Manager Kenny Dalglish is hopeful some of his other players will be fit to return, however, with defenders Glen Johnson (calf), Martin Kelly (ankle) and Daniel Agger (rib) all missing for last weekend's defeat to Wigan.
Midfielder Maxi Rodriguez has recovered from the illness which kept him out of the last game but forward Craig Bellamy (calf) has missed four successive matches.
Provisional squad: Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Enrique, Spearing, Gerrard, Henderson, Downing, Carroll, Suarez, Doni, Flanagan, Aurelio, Coates, Shelvey, Rodriguez, Kuyt.
