Nicky Butt set for new Newcastle deal

Nicky Butt is set to sign a new deal at Newcastle - as Michael Owen ponders an £18million pay offer.
Butt is poised to trigger a one year extension clause for an extra year at St James' Park rather than quitting the club for Wigan, where boss Steve Bruce is an admirer.
Toon sources say Owen's contract offer potentially amounts to £18m in wages over four seasons.
The striker is expected to consider his options in January. Shola Ameobi is likely to sign a new Toon deal.
