Colin Calderwood wants Stoke outcast Glenn Whelan to bolster Nottingham Forest's Championship survival bid.
Calderwood checked out the midfielder in Stoke's Carling Cup win over Rotherham on Tuesday.
Whelan joined Stoke in the summer in a £500,000 move from Sheffield Wednesday.
