Owen Hargreaves gave Van der Sar pep-talk before Champions League shoot-out

Owen Hargreaves has told how he gave Manchester United penalty shoot-out hero Edwin Van der Sar a crucial pep-talk moments before their dramatic Champions League triumph over Chelsea.

Before the sudden-death penalties, Hargreaves said: "I said to Edwin 'I believe you'll win it for us, trust your instincts' and that's all you've got to do - believe."
