Rangers manager Walter Smith is in talks with Derby keeper Lewis Price about a surprise swap deal with Roy Carroll.

Welsh international Price has been told he can leave Pride Park by Paul Jewell - and it's up to him if he fancies action at Ibrox.

Carroll has been on the verge of going to Derby for weeks in a deal held up while Smith sorted out a replacement, which now seems destined to be Price.
