Phil Jagielka is Everton lionheart and good enough for England says David Moyes

David Moyes last night revealed his amazement that Phil Jagielka has been overlooked for the England squad.
The Everton centre-half earned a first international call-up last season after a fine campaign for the Goodison club.
But despite again showing a consistent level of performance as Everton have charged up the Premier League table, Jagielka has been overlooked for a complete unknown whois on loan at Wolves.
After injuries to Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown, Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne-whohas never kicked a ball in the Premier League - has been called into Fabio Capello's squad to face Germany this week.
Moyes said: "It's hard enough picking my own team to try and tell someone else what to do, but Jags has been playing as well as I've seen him," the Everton boss said.
"Put it this way, he's playing as well if not better than he was last year when he was included in the England squad.
"He has been our most consistent player this season, and his athleticism, pace and strength have been impressive."
Jagielka was again outstanding for the Toffees against Middlesbrough yesterday, as the Merseyside club came from behind once more to snatch a point against the visitors.
Yakubu scored against his former club - thanks to a flukey deflection off his back from a free-kick - after Gary O'Neil gave the visitors an early lead.
But Gareth Southgate's side battled well to continue their own good run of form. The Boro manager was impressed by what he saw - especially the form of England winger Stewart Downing who was included in Capello's squad yesterday.
"I thought we did very well because Everton are a strong, physical side who challenge you, and we met that test even though we are a young side who are still developing," he said.
"We had some good performances all over the pitch and I was especially pleased with Stewart Downing, who has come back to form in recent games, and looks back to his best.
"It was a good performance because it was away from home at a tough place - and that is the mark of a very good player."
