Police are looking for a supposed Manchester United fan alleged to have smashed a pub's only TV when Steven Gerrard scored against the Red Devils.
The angry supporter is said to have launched a pint glass at the big-screen telly at around 2.15pm on Saturday 15 October 2011 - at around the same time Gerrard was scoring for the Reds from a controversial free kick.
That caused £1,000 of damage to the TV at The Knowsley Public House, Haymarket Street, Bury and the offender is said to have run off immediately. United equalised 10 minutes later but none of the pub's other customers were able to watch Javier Hernandez level the match.
Inspector Charlotte Cadden said: "No matter how frustrated this man was with the football he had no right whatsoever to launch his pint glass at the screen.
"It totally damaged the screen, ruining the match for everyone else in the pub and left the landlord with a hefty bill.
"Not only that, but the pub has now lost valuable custom while the screen is repaired. I want people to have a good look at the image and tell me who this man is.
"This type of drink-fuelled behaviour will not be tolerated in Bury town centre - or anywhere else for that matter - and we are determined to catch those people who ruin it for everyone else."
Now cops have issued a CCTV image of the man they want to speak to. He is described as white, in his early 20s, about 5ft 8in tall and wearing pale beige camouflage trousers, a t-shirt and a black leather jacket.
