Crisis club Portsmouth have snapped up Lyon striker Frederic Piquionne as a bargain replacement for Peter Crouch.
Piquionne, 30, who scored just twice in 19 matches for Lyon last season, joins on loan and will make his debut in a friendly against Rangers on Saturday.
Pompey boss Paul Hart will also offer contracts to French triallists Fabrice Pancrate and Yassin Moutaouakil.
