Harry Redknapp is poised to follow up the signing of Glen Little from Reading by paying £2million for Spurs reject Younes Kaboul.
Portsmouth want Kaboul, 22, as cover for veteran Sol Campbell during the club's first UEFA Cup campaign.
Spurs paid Auxerre £8m last summer but Juande Ramos is willing to accept a massive price reduction to cut Kaboul (above) from the wage bill.
