Obama: I'm like Messi

US President Barack Obama has compared himself to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
The moment came as the Democrat welcome Major League Soccer Cup winners Colorado Rapids to the White House.
The President met Rapids owner and Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kroenke and picked up a Obama-printed replica shirt from Colorado managing director Jeff Plush who explained the number 10 shirt is normally reserved for a team's “leader.”
Obama said: “That's a good looking jersey. That's me and Messi.”
Obama explained that being the father of football-mad kids Malia and Sasha had made him a "soccer dad" who is "used to watching everyone crowd round the ball, then it kind of pops out somewhere and everyone runs over to it."
He then jokingly congratulated the Rapids for "coming so far, because I'm sure your parents had thought the same thing: 'Those guys can't play'."
Noting the cosmopolitan make-up of the Rapids squad, with players from countries as far apart as Scotland and Senegal, Obama added: "I understand that the night before the final, Kosuke Kimura made a very inspirational speech - but it was in Japanese so no-one could understand what he was saying."
