QPR owner Tony Fernandes has abandoned his pursuit of David Beckham, after claiming the ex-England star would not get into Rangers' midfield.
The Malaysian airline and F1 tycoon said in the summer he was interested in bringing Beckham to Loftus Road after he completed his takeover of the club.
But he has now changed his mind and says a move for the former Manchester United winger is unlikely.
Fernandes said: "I'm not sure where we'd play Beckham because midfield is our strongest area right now.
"Anyway, I think he's happy where he is, so I don't think it will happen."
Beckham is nearing the end of his contract with MLS side LA Galaxy. Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be keen on signing him.
