Raul Meireles feels sorry for Kop stars

Liverpool new boy Raul Meireles admits he feels sorry for Kop stars Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard after the Carling Cup humbling by League 2 Northampton.
The 27-year-old has experience of playing for his hometown club during his time at Porto.
Meireles said: “I can sympathise with people like Steven and Jamie.
“Like me, they have played for a major club in their city. That brings pressures which are difficult to deal with because when it goes wrong the local players can feel the frustrations of the fans a lot more.”
