Ref Chris Foy bungled in Manchester United's Carling Cup win over Barnsley - by booking the wrong Da Silva twin.
Foy proved United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is not the only who who cannot tell the difference between 19-year-old Brazilian twins Fabio and Rafael.
In the second-half of United's 2-0 triumph at Oakwell on Tuesday, Foy booked Fabio for a foul on Barnsley sub Jamal Campbell-Ryce.
But it was actually Rafael who had committed the offence and should have received the caution, which United are confident of overturning.
A United spokesman said: "We are in discussions with the FA over this matter.
"We have pointed out that the referee made a mistake on the night and we obviously want it to be corrected.
"We will be asking for further advice on how best to rectify the situation."
